"Gangjeong Village Project"

"Gangjeong Village Project" was conducted following "The Rainbow Headquarters" installed at the SeoulDesign Olympics." Gangjeong Village in Seogwipo City, Jeju Province is now in a season to harvest tangerines, but opposition to construction of a naval base is making some noise. The village offshore belongs to the "Biosphere Reserve" designated by the UNESCO. Yeonsan-ho (soft coral), Korea's "Natural Monument No.442" designated by the Cultural Heritage Administration of Korea has formed the biggest
community and has been also designated by Jeju Province as a provincial sea park.
And 94 percent of its residents are opposed to the construction of a naval base, and so am I.
